As a founding member of Toronto alt-folk nontet Bruce Peninsula, Neil has released several critically-acclaimed LPs and toured extensively. His transition into film work began in 2012, when Bruce Peninsula contributed music to Ed Gass-Donnelly’s Small Town Murder Songs. Since then, Neil has composed music for numerous short and feature films, including Tim Blackburn’s Burns Point and Andrew Cividino’s Sleeping Giant, the latter of which was well-celebrated at the Cannes Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
Haverty is finishing up a year spent as a resident with the Slaight Family Music Lab at the Canadian Film Centre. 2017 will see the release of the third full-length from Bruce Peninsula, as well as the self-titled debut of Understudy, a new solo electronic project.
